Senior Leadership Team

Miss Palmer

I have been working at Merton Junior School as Headteacher for over 8 years now. I really enjoy coming to school everyday (children in school always make me smile) and am lucky to lead a fantastic team of dedicated staff. I do not often have time for hobbies; but do like to read, go for walks, visit France and have a passion for art. I have 3 cats at home, who definitely think they rule my house! I have been lucky to 'tick off' a few of my ambitions; I have visited New York and Hong Kong and driven a tank! However, I still really want to climb the Inca trail to Machu Picchu in Peru and see Polar Bears in the wild!

Deputy Headteacher - Mrs Reading

I love working at Merton Junior School and have taught each year group across the school. I am the Deputy Headteacher so, as well as supporting Miss Palmer, I can be found teaching in any of the classes as well so my time at school is kept very busy! One of my ambitions is to visit New Zealand and I would love to stay in St Lucia too as I completed a school project about the island when I was a pupil in year 6 and, since then, I have wanted to explore the island! I enjoy spending time walking my dogs, Harley and Monty, during the holidays and at the weekends.

Assistant Headteacher - Mrs McGillivray

I have taught across different Hampshire schools and I enjoy the opportunities teaching  presents. Outside of school, I really enjoy singing and Ice hockey (I am a season ticket holder for the Basingstoke Bison). I love spending time with my family and friends.

SENDCo - Mrs Dyer

I adore working at Merton Junior School and can often be found teaching in a variety of different year groups. I have a responsibility for Special Educational Needs in school, an area of education that I thoroughly enjoy!  I enjoy all sports, especially Formula One, Rugby and athletics, but my real passion is centred around my dogs; nothing beats an early morning stroll to get me ready for a busy day ahead.

Inclusion Manager - Mrs Fisher

I have been working at Merton Junior School for nearly ten years, I really enjoy my role within the school and love working with the children. I have two children and we really enjoy going to Cornwall for our holidays. As a family we also like to spend time at the sea side and we enjoy long walks and holidays away with friends.
