Year 3 Staff

Mr Emery – Hazel (Assistant Head teacher and Year 3 Team Leader)

I have been fortunate enough to work at Merton Junior School in many different roles for 5 years now. I am the Assistant Head teacher which means that I work closely with all the dedicated staff throughout the school. I enjoy teaching all subjects but particularly science. I am also lucky enough to lead the year 3 team! I have travelled many places in the world climbing and really enjoy mountain biking. One of my favourite places was Nepal where I cycled for over a month across the foot hills of the Himalayan Mountains (well, some days pushed!).

Miss Gibbons – Horse Chestnut

I am loving my time at Merton so far. Each day is so busy, but I look forward to the challenges  knowing each day will bring something new. In my spare time, I love running and going for walks to explore new places. I particularly enjoy walking around a forest. I also enjoy cooking for my family. Trying out new recipes is always fun! I love working at Merton Junior School, everyone is so supportive and the children are always polite and helpful.

Miss Light - Oak

My name is Miss Light and I teach in Oak Class. This is my third year at Merton and as a teacher and I am loving it! One of my hobbies is dancing. I have been doing lots of different types of dancing since I was a little girl. My absolute favourite is ballet! I don't get much time to go to many lessons anymore, but I still enjoy watching it on TV and sometimes going to see it at the theatre. One day, I hope to move near to the seaside. I grew up in a seaside town and I miss going to the beach for an ice cream and a paddle in the sea in the summer time!

Mrs Haddington - LSA Horse Chestnut

I have worked in the school for just over 9 years now in a mix of all year groups.  I am a mum of 3. I enjoy reading and sewing and spending time with my family, which does include going fishing and even doing night fishing even in the freezing cold.  I have just recently finished a college course and achieved my Level 3 Diploma in Supported Learning and Teaching.
