Remote Learning and Covid update....October 7, 2020

10th November 2020

As you are aware from the recent Government’s guidance, schools continue to remain open for all children and young people as they have since the start of the autumn term for the duration of the national restrictions. If your child is self-isolating due to illness in the household, or they are poorly themselves, they can access the online work which can be found in each year group’s page on the school website (there is a link on the front page of the website too)—this is updated daily and is inline with the provision and lessons which are happening in school so that children who are not in school do not miss out. Please do send any work to the class teacher via the year groups’ email addresses so that your child can receive feedback. We will be moving to Google classrooms as a platform to share work to be completed—a separate letter will follow to outline this. There is a government expectation for children who are self-isolating (and not poorly themselves) to be completing work so that they don’t fall behind.

Thank you again to everyone who is wearing a face mask onsite, we will continue with this, as well as the staggered start and end time to reduce contact on school site.

Unfortunately, due to the current restrictions, many of the events that we would usually be running at this time of year are unable to happen, so please take a look at the calendar dates. Sadly, we have had to stop extra-curricular clubs until the end of this lockdown, so the only club available is after school club (because this is for childcare).

We would love for the children to continue sending Christmas cards in true Christmas spirit, if they wish. Each year group will have a Post Box (where cards for other year groups can be posted) which will be ‘open’ on a Monday, Tuesday and a Wednesday. The cards will then be ‘in quarantine’ until the next Monday morning (at least 96 hours) when they will be (hygienically) divided up into the correct classes. They will then be distributed by the class teacher to each child, and can then go home from here. Because of this, the Post Boxes will be open on Tuesday 1st December and close on Monday 14th December.

Once again, thank you to all of you, from all of us, for working with us during these turbulent times.
