During our first week back in Year 3, the children have been super scientists during our Light project and had fun dressing up on our French day.
They found out about shadows and how light moves. The children took part in investigations and predicted what happens to materials when light is shone through it. They found out what opaque, transparent and translucent means. The children also found out about shadows and how they are created.
During French day they enjoyed tasting French food, learning how to talk about colours and created beautiful art work inspired by Claude Monet. We also had some fabulous French costumes.
As well as these fantastic days, we have settled into routines and begun our project on Fantastique France, as well as mystery stories and division.
What a great start to the Spring term! We would also like to welcome Miss Harman. Miss Harman has taken over from Miss Beer in Maple class. Welcome :-)
The Year 3 team cannot wait to start the new school year! Miss Beer, Miss Wright and Miss Fear have a whole range of exciting and engaging topics planned for the next academic year. From Stone to Steel, where the children will be introduced to Stonehenge and learn about different types of rock, to Fantastique France, where children will develop their geography skills and learn about French culture. Magnifique!
