Welcome back to Summer 1!

We hope you all had a wonderful and restful Easter break and were able to enjoy some special family time. Thank you, as always, for your continued support and efforts during last half-term - it truly makes a difference to the children’s progress and confidence.

This term, our exciting new topic is Fossil Frenzy! This is a geography and science-led unit where children will explore the Jurassic Coast, learning about how this unique landscape was formed over millions of years. They will investigate different types of rocks and soils, understand how fossils are created and discover what they can tell us about life in the past. As part of the science curriculum, pupils will compare and group rocks based on their properties and describe how fossils are formed. In geography, they will develop their understanding of physical features, coastal processes and how the Earth changes over time.

A gentle reminder to continue supporting your child with their homework routines: we expect 5 reads per week, along with regular spelling practice and times table revision. Your support at home is invaluable - thank you!

Please also enjoy the images here, showcasing some of the fantastic DT projects completed during the final week of Spring 2. We are very proud of the creativity and effort the children demonstrated in their finished pieces.

We are looking forward to another fantastic half-term of learning!
