Pupil Wellbeing

At Merton Junior School, the wellbeing of every child is at the heart of everything we do. We understand that emotional and mental health are fundamental to a child’s ability to learn, grow, and thrive. Our inclusive, friendly, and safe environment ensures that every child feels valued, supported, and nurtured throughout their time with us.

We are committed to:

  • Promoting positive mental health and resilience through a caring and supportive school culture
  • Providing tailored pastoral support that meets the diverse needs of our children, including those with SEND and EHCPs
  • Equipping children with essential life skills, encouraging a growth mindset, and fostering optimism and tenacity
  • Building strong partnerships with families and the wider community to create a network of care and understanding
  • Offering a curriculum enriched with real-life experiences that inspire confidence and enthusiasm for learning
  • Ensuring that all staff are trained to recognise and respond to wellbeing needs, creating an environment where children feel safe to express themselves

By prioritising wellbeing, we help our children develop the confidence and resilience they need to overcome challenges, achieve their full potential, and become motivated, enthusiastic, respectful, and nurturing lifelong learners.

The health and wellbeing of our pupils is extremely important to us. If you need help with anything then please talk to your class teacher or Learning Support Assistant or our Pastoral Team - Miss Batten or Miss Thane. Any adult in school would like to help you, you're not alone!
