First days back...

A very warm welcome to all of our new Year 3 children and their families! We hope you have had a wonderful summer and are ready for an exciting year of learning, discovery and new adventures.

The first couple of weeks in Year 3 will be all about transition. Moving into Key Stage 2 is an exciting milestone, and we want to make sure that every child feels happy, confident and settled in their new classroom. We will be spending lots of time getting to know one another, learning our new routines and expectations, exploring our school and building positive relationships with our new teachers and classmates.

We will also be taking part in a range of fun activities designed to help the children work together, develop their confidence and resilience, and discover what makes our Year 3 community special. These first few weeks are an important opportunity for us to get to know each child – their interests, strengths, personalities and aspirations – so that we can support them to have a successful year.

Once we are settled, we will begin our exciting new history-based topic, ‘Stones to Steel’! 🪨⚒️

We will travel back thousands of years to explore the Stone Age, discovering how people lived, where they settled, what they ate and how they survived. We’ll investigate fascinating archaeological discoveries, explore Stone Age settlements and artefacts, and find out how life changed as humans developed new tools and technologies.

We are looking forward to an action-packed year filled with curiosity, creativity and plenty of opportunities to learn together. Welcome to Year 3 – we can't wait to see what we can achieve!
