  • Girls vs boys football

    Tue 18 Jul 2023 Miss I Knowles

We had our girls vs boys football match today!

The children asked for it and they got it. We played the whole girls team and the boys were in charge of who played and for how long.

There was some great teamwork between all players and it was played as fair as possible.

A huge well done to both teams and a good luck for next year to the Year 6's.

  • Staff vs Year 6 rounders

    Tue 18 Jul 2023 Miss I Knowles

Another year has passed since our infamous rounders match with the Year 6's vs the staff.

Over 12 years the staff have held their rein, and this year is no different. The staff won again with 18 rounders and the Year 6's scoring 10.5.

The year 6's were fantastic and the Year 5's who helped the staff were also brilliant.

Let's see if next year they can finally beat the staff...

  • Boys football final match 22/23

    Tue 18 Jul 2023 Miss I Knowles

Despite facing a loss for our final game, the boys' football team remains undeniably amazing. Throughout the entire season, their performance has been nothing short of incredible. Their unwavering dedication, skillful plays, and exceptional teamwork have been fantastic. Despite the outcome, the team's resilience and spirit shine brightly, leaving a lasting impression on everyone who witnessed their remarkable journey. This season will undoubtedly be remembered as a testament to their determination and sportsmanship. I am so proud of these boys for the season and the challenges they have all faced.

Boys, keep playing and keep loving football!

  • Girls final match of 22-23

    Thu 13 Jul 2023 Miss I Knowles

A massive well done to the girls football team for the win against St Bede's. What a way to end the season with an exciting game which ended 3-2.

I am so proud of the girls for everything they have achieved this year and the progress they have made as a team.

This was the final match against another school so I just wanted to wish the Year 6 girls the best at their new schools and keep playing football!

Keep it up girls. We look forward to next season with a new team.

  • Sports Day 2023!

    Tue 04 Jul 2023 Miss I Knowles

    What an amazing day!

I'm so proud of all the children for the resilience, motivation, enthusiasm and sportsmanship qualities. They were all brilliant and had a wonderful day celebrating sport at Merton Junior School.

We started at 10am for about 2 hours going to 20 different stations and scoring points on the way. We had penalty shoot outs, target throws, welly throws, hula hoop and plenty more!

We all enjoyed a fantastic picnic lunch around on the field with friends and family.

After lunch were the big races, we did the obstacle course, egg and spoon race, relay race, long distance and the sprint.

We ended with a parent/carer race, toddler race and a teacher race.

A huge well done to Yellow team (Usain Bolt's team) for winning the whole day and celebrating with a trophy!
